I KNOW WHY CAGED BIRDS SING...

I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings

By: Maya Angelou

The free bird leaps on the back of the win
and floats down stream till the current end
sand dips his wingsin the orange sun ray sand
dares to claim the sky.But a bird that stalks
down his narrow cagecan seldom see through
his bars of ragehis wings are clipped and
his feet are tiedso he opens his throat to sing.
The caged bird singswith fearful tril lof the
things unknown but longed for stilland is tune i
s heardon the distant hillfor the caged bird sings
of freedomThe free bird thinks of another breeze
an the trade winds soft through the sighing trees
and the fat worms waiting on a dawn-bright lawn
and he names the sky his own.But a caged bird
stands on the grave of dreamshis shadow shouts
on a nightmare screamhis wings are clipped and
his feet are tiedso he opens his throat to sing
The caged bird singswith a fearful trill of things
unknownbut longed for stilland his tune is heard
on the distant hillfor the caged birdsings of freedom.

ps. I feel much better, I was just being tested. I get it now.
